The department was started with B. Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2001-2002, with an intake of 60 and the number was increased to 240 in 2013. The Department has grown rapidly ever since its establishment. In 2007-2008, department started Master’s degree M. Tech in VLSI with an intake of 18. In later years, the department started to offer M.Tech specializations such as Electronics and Communication Engineering, Embedded Systems and Nano Technology. ECE Department has 8 well established hardware laboratories and 02 Air-Conditioned Laboratories to cater the needs of UG students. Dedicated specialized laboratories along with research laboratories are available for the needs of the M.Tech students. The main thrust of ECE Department is to provide better quality education required by the present industry and train the faculty in new technologies periodically to equip themselves in the present global scenario. Also the Department is Equipped with a departmental student Library comprising of 500 volumes.
Our laboratories and teaching methods of mixing theory sessions with laboratory practice were appreciated by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) inspection team. The Department is equipped with 12 labs, 4 advanced labs, departmental computer centre, departmental library, classrooms with modern teaching aids and staff rooms.

The Department has dedicated and experienced faculty members with a very good retention period. All of the faculty members are M.
