This section deals with the acquisition part of books, journals, e - resources, multimedia etc.
Library Development Committee is formed to take decision in this regard. Apart from acquisition the major work is maintaining discipline in the library, division of work among staff, Maintenance of Digital Library etc.
This section deals with Accessioning of Books, Cataloguing, Pasting and Labeling of Barcode Labels, entries of records in Library Software. Entering periodicals details in periodical Register.
Maintaining Xerox Machine, Binding of damaged books etc.
Library is equipped with 15 big racks for stacking books. Books are arranged in Open Access system according to Dewey Decimal Classification System. List of major titles is displayed on each and every rack for easy access to the users.
Library is rich in Reference Section with different Dictionaries like Subject, Languages etc. Encyclopedias, Handbooks, novels, GATE, IELTS and other competitive exam books are available for the benefit of students. Apart from this, each copy of titles purchased is kept in Reference Section. Famous general books are available in rich number. Latest editions of books are regularly purchased to add this section.
Library is using NEWGENLIB software for house - keeping operations of Library. Library is completely automated in terms of Circulation. 3 Separate systems are arranged at Circulation Counter for Issue and Return of Books. Issue Returns of Books will be done through Scanners directly in Library Software. Books will be issued with the respective students Bar coded ID Card.
Separate periodical section is available in Main library with seating arrangement for users. Library is subscribing to various National and International Journals. In the same section Project Reports and Back Volumes of Journals are arranged.
Digital Library is equipped with 20 latest computer systems with Internet connection. NPTEL Video Lectures are stored in 4 TB Hard Disks. The Digital Library is having 15 computer systems with internet connection. It is having Unified Library Server Model 1220 Base (NAS, SAN, Backup, Instant recovery). The main feature of Server is NVD Jukebox, CD/DVD Mirror, Campus Storage, built in storage/file system router. It has the storage capacity of 4.5 TB.
Separate Multimedia section is provided in the library which is storing more than 2000 CD ROM’s. List of all CD’s is available for easy access. CD’s will be issued to the students for 3 days on their Library Account.
Adequate seating arrangement with comfortable tables and chairs are provided in the Library for the benefit of users. Around 500 students can sit in the main reading hall. Apart from this seating arrangement is done separately in Periodical Section.
Library is subscribing to 7 Newspapers with national and regional papers. English as well as Telugu newspapers also getting for regional news on demand of students. 2 Business papers specially subscribed for Management students. Separate Newspaper Desks are provided for this purpose.
